Notice is hereby formally given that the AGM will be held on Wednesday 9 March 2016, at St Matthew’s Church, Clare Road, Cotham, Bristol, starting at 7.30 pm.

It will be followed by a talk by BAAS Chairman Dr Paula Gardiner entitled ‘Ritual and Ceremony in the Mendip Caves’.

It is extremely important for the smooth continuation of the business of the Society that the meeting should be quorate and we would ask you to attend if at all possible. It is even more essential this year as there are a number of very important committee changes which will need to be addressed: Dr. Paula Gardiner is coming to the end of her very successful tenure as Chairman; Bob Jones as current Vice-Chairman automatically takes her place but this leaves a vacancy for Vice-Chairman; Gundula Dorey is retiring from her position as Secretary and Membership Secretary; Brian Orchard and Jenny Pennington have both asked to stand down from their positions as Committee Members.  The position of Project Officer is still vacant.

The Committee is looking to fill the following positions:

Vice Chairman (leading up to being Chairman in 2 years’ time)

Hon. Secretary

Hon Membership Secretary and database holder

Project Officer

Two Committee Members

A good familiarity with IT is essential. If you are interested in any of these positions please make yourself known. Anyone on the Committee will gladly talk to you, or come to a committee meeting and see how you feel about it.

Formal Nominations for Officers and Members of the Committee, should you be interested in joining us, should be sent to Gundula Dorey (Hon. Secretary) at 14 Goldney Road, Bristol BS8 4RB [email protected] not later than 25 February 2016.
