This will be an introduction to the principal sites and finds of Western and Northern Britain, for a period that has great popularity in the public imagination: the period of State Formation after the end of Roman rule. The talk will examine the many parallels that came through trade and contact along the Atlantic seaboard and highlight key unanswered questions.
