We will meet at 2.00pm at St Mary Redcliffe outside the north porch and consider the complex history of this fine building. By using James Millerd’s map of 1673 (copies will be supplied) we will walk through Redcliffe looking at the changing face of Redcliffe from a crowded industrial quarter specialising in cloth working to an equally industrial area in the 18th and 19th century, with glass making, brewing and tobacco industries predominating. Some of the surviving sites will be visited in the course of the tour, including, if possible, the ruins of Temple Church.
Bob’s mobile number on the day is: 07746 101106.
