The layout of a Roman villa, complete with walled courtyard, outbuildings and wells was revealed when topsoil was stripped on the site.  The site had been occupied for a few hundred years and enjoyed its most prosperous period in the 3rd Century AD.  Finds include large quantities of animal bone, metal and pottery.
