Tony Roberts, Archeoscan
Lecture

The annual Leslie Grinsell lecture:  Investigations over the past few years have uncovered a significant Iron Age and Roman landscape around Slimbridge, Gloucestershire, that could change the thinking of the early years of the Roman occupation.  Was Slimbridge the site of a port of an Iron Age trading centre on the Severn that was used on the arrival of the Romans?  Tony discusses the archaeology uncovered so far and presents the latest theories.
