Walk

Take a walk around the Blaise Estate with Kate Iles, Curator of  Archaeology for Bristol Museums.

Within the estate archaeologists have recorded Bronze Age barrows, two Iron Age hillforts, a high-status Roman building, a ‘post-Roman’ cemetery, a possible Medieval chapel and a range of garden buildings from the late 1700s and early 1800s.  We may have access to Blaise Castle (subject to confirmation).  On this 90 minute walk you will discover the history of the estate and explore some of the amazing archaeology still visible today.

We will meet at Blaise House at 11.00 am and finish in the Dairy Gardens for some refreshments.  Please note BCC have now introduced car parking charges on the site.  For one hour £1, two hours £2 and £3 for up to five hours.

The walk will involve climbing a number of hills and some uneven ground so may not be possible for people with limited mobility.  If you have specific access requirements, please let us know in advance and we will do our best to support you.  Please note we have a maximum number of 25 places available for this walk and you must book your place by email:  [email protected]

To date there are 14 places available.
