Festival of Archaeology: Bristol’s Brilliant Archaeology

On Saturday July 23, 2016
BAAS Committee
Other

Organised by Bristol Museum from 10.30 am – 3.30 pm. at Blaise Castle House Museum & Estate, Henbury Road, Bristol, BS10 7QS

BAAS is hoping to get a specific display together in amongst the exhibitions of all the many related organisations: join us for a very active day.

Join a whole host of Iron Age, Viking, Roman, Medieval and First World War re-enactors and have a go at being an archaeologist for the day to mark the national Festival of Archaeology.

Meet archaeologists from the University of Bristol, the Portable Antiquities Scheme and other field units. Find out about the work of different community archaeology and history groups and watch Anglo Saxon re-enactors go about their daily lives.

Join in with a whole host of family friendly activities including dressing up and craft. Have a go at being an archaeologist, handle real archaeological artefacts, take a tour and see living history and combat displays.

There will also be opportunities to explore Blaise Castle and wander round the Blaise Community Gardens.
